Jakarta Provincial Government continues to maintain food price stability in markets.
It is government's duty to stabilize the price
For that, City plans to cooperate with farmers in regions and optimize Controlled Atmosphere Storage (CAS) machine.
Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat said, Jakarta Provincial Governor will conduct farming contract which is buying food products directly from farmers in affordable price.
Council Chairman Appreciated Staple Food Stability in City"We will cooperate with farmers by collecting what we need and storage it in CAS machine," he said, Thursday (7/27).
According to him, this plan can minimize food unavailability in market that can cause price to rise. "It is government's duty to stabilize the price," he affirmed.
Besides maintaining price stability, he continued, City is also committed to subsidize citizen that economically disadvantaged by conducting market operation or selling food products below normal price.
"Our commitment is to subsidize needy people. We do it all by non-cash mechanism," he closed.
